The indoor garden is an oasis of tranquility in the middle of the city.

State room in roccoco style

1772 AD: an unknown architect is assigned to renovate the building in the garden of Den Wolsack House into a State room in roccoco style. The end result is a stunning reception hall that highlights the wealth, luxury and prestige of the owners. Even the toilet is beautifully decorated as a library!

A gigantic painting hangs from the ceiling and opens the space to a radiant sky. The canvas depicts the residents of Mount Olympus: the impetuous Greek gods. Over the centuries, various restorers have made the work more chaste: naked breasts get covered up, colours adapted. Since 2016 you can admire the Gods on Mount Olympus in its full glory again.
